PTO president letter (8/21/2022)

Dear Families of Holy Angels School,

On behalf of the PTO Board, I welcome you back to the 2022-2023 school year! Leading the PTO Board for the second year, I am energized to start the new year and grateful for the opportunity to help our new administration as they transition in. Our '22-'23 PTO Board is comprised of roughly half returning parents and half new members to the board. Don't hesitate to reach out to any of us with ideas or questions about the year ahead. We are still looking for an 8th Grade parent representative if you are interested!

The goal of the PTO is to "support supplemental programs…for the betterment of our students” and “to promote Christian family life as part of the overall mission of the parish.”

After all the fundraising efforts last year, we raised almost $28k! Over half of our profit comes from fundraisers that overlap with needs or activities that families may already plan for - including the flower sales, Wednesday lunches, used uniform sales, dine out days and loyalty programs. The UD men's basketball concession stand volunteers earned the PTO over $2,500 last year. The walkathon and the membership donations are the 2 fundraising drives that are straight donation requests. 

The money raised will be used for enrichment programs at school including Muse Machine, skating in gym class, field trips, support to our teachers and more. Membership Toolkit, the PTO's app, is also used by the Boosters (for their spirit wear sale), the 8th grade (for pizza sales and trivia night tickets), the Drama Club (for tickets and volunteers) and some teachers for field trip organizing (for collecting money via credit or debit card). 

All families must update your information on Membership Toolkit (even if you signed up last year) to receive communication from the PTO. Please update your family information, pay for school lunches and get involved by signing up for over 200 volunteer opportunities available online.

We will continue to host the PTO General Meetings as hybrid Online/In Person, the same format that we did last Spring.  Hopefully, the PTO will get to host a couple social events this year just so we can hang out and get to know each other. We have a couple of ideas in the works. I look forward to meeting you at school and to seeing you at the General Meetings.
